Born and partially raised in Taiwan, Tina is a first generation Asian American immigrant. This intersectionality of race, ethnicity, and nationality have often landed her in the spaces of in-between. She’s come to further embrace this third-culture uniqueness which has presented her with both opportunities to grow and challenges to overcome discrimination in the workplace.
Her academic studies in Management, Leadership Development and Strategic Organizational Change has led her to professional opportunities where she partners with Senior Executives, CEO’s, and Entrepreneurs to lay the foundation and transform the culture of their organizations through coaching, training, and systematically designing unique people programming & processes.
Having spent more than a decade in organizations of different sizes, many of which involved her, as a woman of color, standing up against the male and white dominant narratives; Tina believes that it is time for everyone, regardless of position or rank, to step up to be the leader they seek. Each person has the capacity to influence positive changes in this world. It can only start by being self-aware and consciously choosing to live by their values rooted in equity and social change every single time. This journey, despite the difficulty it may present, is well worth its weight in the impact created.
She is excited to be a part of Empower To Change to support the Board and Founder with developing, communicating, and executing on sustainable strategic initiatives. All the while, probing the crucial culture shaping questions that will lay the foundation to E2C’s organizational culture. On the journey to seek a just and equitable world, each of us possesses an internal compass pointing us in the direction of right and wrong. It is not enough to know right from wrong; rather we must act upon the right, rooted in community values, which the compass points out so that collectively we may shape a new narrative of tomorrow for future generations.
