Originally from Richmond, California, Sammie Bueno is a senior at UC Berkeley majoring in Media Studies and Communications. Sammie is the Marketing Director of Soulstice Bay Area, an organization that provides platforms for creatives of color to shine and allow social movements to rise. Sammie is also the A&R Director of Def-Odd Records, Co-Director of Entertainment at CalTV, and the Booking Intern for Superb Productions at Cal.  

Sammie aspires to work in the music industry upon graduating from Cal in 2020 to create more equitable spaces for womxn, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ artists. She hopes that with her background as the daughter of immigrants from Nicaragua and the Philippines, she will make the music industry a more inclusive space. Sammie is excited to join Empower to Change in this capacity.
