Angela is a first-generation Vietnamese-American who lost her parents to cancer when she was a young girl. Without parental figures and a community to call her own, she turned to books to provide her with worldly experiences that she learned and grew from. Angela’s love of literature motivated her to earn her BA in English Literature from UC Berkeley in 2019.

Angela’s loss has likewise developed her passion for medicine. Back in her hometown of Los Angeles, she is enrolled in LMU's Post-baccalaureate Premedical Program with hopes of becoming a physician. Longing to give back to the community that raised her, she serves as a medical assistant and grant writer for The West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation, a non-profit that provides free medical care to at-risk youth.

Angela is thrilled to be a part of e2c, a place where she'll combine her interests in writing and medicine. As a contributing writer, she aims to highlight the disparities that marginalized communities face from inadequate access to medical care. Her goal is to be an outlet of support and change in the diversification of higher education and medicine.
