Sophia is a fourth year at UC Berkeley majoring in Global Studies, specializing in international Peace and Conflict. For the past two summers, she has taught English abroad in Vietnam and Japan, and has spent this summer interning as an events assistant for the Emerson Collective, a social change organization led by Laurene Powell Jobs centered around immigration reform, education, and ending gun violence.

Her passion lies in politics and development, most recently being selected as a Global Governance and Geopolitics delegate for the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations at Harvard College earlier this year. On the side, she is an artist and strong advocate for the arts, the Comedy Manager for SUPERB Productions at Berkeley, and is involved in the Vietnamese Student Association as a past director for VSA’s annual Culture Show.

Upon graduation, Sophia hopes to delve deep into the world of social change and politics, working with international think tanks or policy makers to enact change in an even greater scope. Sophia is excited to be working as the Programming Manager for Empower to Change and be a part of such a great organization.
